Writing Retreat with Mandy Haggith
Saturday 30th April - Friday 6th May 2016
A writing retreat is a special time. It's a chance to really get your teeth into a new project, to get some pages of that novel under your belt, to draft some new poems, or just to sit back, relax, wander and wonder and recharge your creative batteries in the beautiful surroundings of the Summer Isles.
This writing week is a tutored retreat. Poet and novelist Mandy Haggith - who lives just up the coast in Assynt - will guide daily activities to help get your creative juices flowing and offer individual feedback on your writing, whilst allowing plenty of time to get on with your own project.
Each morning there will be a 'creative warm-up' session, writing together for up to an hour, and on most days there will be a walk-with-a-difference, a mini-workshop to stir up ideas, or even a cruise around the islands! All activities are optional and your time is your own. Mandy is always happy to read work in progress and give feedback in confidence, and there'll be lots of opportunities to share your writing with others, especially around the fire in the evenings.
The retreat will be based in the Schoolhouse and Farmhouse; the kitchens will be stocked for us to help ourselves to breakfast and lunch, and we'll have a nourishing dinner cooked for us. The price includes the boat trip to and from the island; there are different prices for different sizes of rooms, and they are all single occupancy.
We have a special price for 'Early Birds' who book in January.
